Kangana Ranaut was born on 23 March 1987. She is an Indian actress and filmmaker working in Hindi films.

Early Life and family
Kangana was born at Bhambla (now Surajpur) into a Rajput family.
Her father, Amardeep Ranaut, is a businessman, while her mother, Asha Ranaut, used to work as a school teacher.
She has an older sister, Rangoli Chandel, who works as her manager, and a younger brother, Akshat.
The actress grew up in a joint family in Bhambla and described her childhood as “simple and happy.”
She described herself as “stubborn and rebellious” while growing up: “If my father would gift my brother a plastic gun and get a doll for me, I would not accept that. I questioned the discrimination.”
She never subscribed to the hen expected stereotypes, so she experimented with Fashion from a young age. Her neighbors would think of her clothes and accessories as “bizarre.”
When it comes to her education, she attended the DAV School in Chandigarh, where she pursued science.
She originally wanted to become a doctor since her parents liked that.
However, she failed a unit test in chemistry during 12th grade, which made her reconsider her career decision.
In the end, she didn’t show up for her All India Pre Medical Test.

In Delhi, she was unsure which career to choose, and then the Elite Modelling Agency suggested that she model for them.
However, she did not like that career, so she joined the Asmita Theatre Group.
After training under the theatre director Arvind Gaur, she made her film debut in thriller Gangster (2006), for which she was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Then, Kangana was praised for her performances in the dramas Woh Lamhe (2006), Life in a… Metro (2007) and Fashion (2008), for which she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She was featured in the commercially successful film Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010).
